Today is the day... October 5th.
First, I need to give a huge thanks to those of you who helped me reach my fundraising goal! As of my last post, I was more than $2000 short! I was absolutely floored yesterday when I checked my email and saw that the money had come in. Thank you so much for joining me in providing love and support to children in poverty around the world! Your support means the world to me.

As excited as I am that so many children were able to be provided with care through Compassion and as positive as I try to be about everything, I have to admit that today is tough. The most important thing is the kids, so I am doing my best to remember that! The marathon itself was more for me, but being human, I'm still disappointed. How silly is it that I struggle to admit that I'm human and actually feel things?! Being a robot would be far easier. ;)
Since I wasn't able to do the marathon, I had to be at my master's classes this weekend. Definitely not quite as fun, but I'm rocking my Team Compassion shirt! :) On my way to a full day of discussing school law... the song "Worn" came on the radio. That is very much how I feel this morning... worn. "I know I need to lift my eyes up, but I'm too weak, life just won’t let up. And I know that you can give me rest, so I cry out with all that I have left."
God doesn't expect us to always be completely put together. He meets us where we are. And, I know that he's meeting me here in class today just as he would have met me if I were running 26.2 miles. So, since I should probably be paying more attention in class... I better sign off!
