Let me tell you something. You are not alone. God is right there with you through every single thing that you are facing. He will never leave you. Ever. God promises to be your strength and your defender. He can be your refuge through the storm. Will you let Him? You don't have to walk though this life alone. Reach out to God, and rest in Him.
As I mentioned before, this message strikes a very personal chord with me. I really am rather alone. No, I don't want you to hold a pity party for me! :) It's just the stage of life I am in, and I am ok with it! But... at the same time, I struggle with looking at the storms of life and not feeling like I'm alone in battling them. Two weeks ago I had surgery on my wrist. In November, I am having surgery on my hip to fix a labral tear and to do a femoral neck osteochondroplasty (a big fancy word that means they will shave part of the top of my femur off to reshape it.) Yes, for those of you reading my previous posts, I did find out that it was torn and needing surgery! I am so thankful to at least know what is wrong now. Yet, it's another bump in the road.
Those battles are physical. They are doctor diagnosed. Some struggles we face are of a different kind: emotional. No one can see these battles that we all face at times. Sometimes, the greatest pains can't be seen on an x-ray or an mri... No on can see you limping or hear you coughing. There is no blood. Yet, every day may be a struggle. Please, please, please know that you are not alone, even in the deepest sorrow of your soul. God is with you and He understands. He cares and He heals.
I know that God allows hard things in our lives for a reason. While I can't understand them, I know that His plan and purposes are so much bigger than the temporary things of life. I also know that we're not alone. I am confident that God is going to be right by my side through these bumps in the road, just as he has walked me through every struggle in the past. I can look back and say that never once have I ever walked alone. Through every pain, every tear, every setback, my hope stands firm and secure in the rock. My friends, if you put your trust in the rock who is Jesus Christ, you can have this same amazing hope.
Here is the song that inspired this post. I Am Not Alone by Kari Jobe. I hope it brings comfort and hope to you. No matter what you are facing, you are not alone.
